The Lusaka Magistrate Court has convicted seven people on two counts of human trafficking involving a 21-year-old Mozambican woman with albinism.
The victim, Theresa Andreas, was lured to Lusaka under the pretense of marriage by 25-year-old convict Moses Banda, but was instead being trafficked to be sold for sexual purposes at $150,000.
Magistrate Constance Kasankala has committed the convicts to the High Court for sentencing, where they face a maximum penalty of 30 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
