The Livingstone Magistrates’ Court has set November 28, 2025 as the date for judgment in a case where Livingstone Mayor Constance Muleabai stands accused of corruption.
Ms. Muleabai is alleged to have solicited 120,000 kwcha and obtained 180,000 kwacha in cash gratification from businessman Mark Gabites as an inducement to facilitate the cancellation of property rate bills at the Livingstone City Council.
Earlier, Lusaka Magistrate Trevor Kasanda, sitting at the Livingstone Magistrate Court, ruled that Ms. Muleabai had a case to answer on both counts. However, the mayor denied all charges during her defense.
In her testimony Ms. Muleabai admitted having a family friendship with prosecution witness Monde Sumbwa, but denied conspiring with her to obtain money from Zam Nuka Farm Limited, the complainants in the matter.
