President Hakainde Hichilema is this week expected to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) for a three-day working visit.
This will be his first trip abroad since the death of his predecessor, Edgar Lungu.
While in the UK, President Hichilema will meet His Majesty King Charles III in Scotland at the King’s invitation.
According to a statement by State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka, the visit will provide an opportunity for Zambia and the UK to reaffirm and strengthen long-standing ties that date back to the pre-independence era and have since expanded into wide-ranging cooperation across multiple sectors.
Mr. Hamasaka further stated that the President will also hold a series of meetings with UK Government officials in London to advance discussions on trade, development, and other partnership initiatives.
