The Patriotic Front (PF) Party says violence is one of the reasons they lost the 2021 election.
This comes in the wake of a viral video showing one of its members, Joe popularly known as Black Apple being brutally assaulted and humiliated by suspected UPND cadres, who forced him to beg for forgiveness.
PF Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda speaking to Diamond News has condemned the incident, describing it as a barbaric criminal act that has no place in a democratic society.
He says the victim was merely attending a funeral when the attack happened, adding that such actions are meant to instill fear among the youth and silence opposition voices.
He says the matter has been reported to the police, but the law only applies to the opposition and when the UPND commits serious crimes, the police never act.
