Goals from Igmane Hamza and Youssef En-Nesyri were enough for Morocco to edge past Zambia in a tightly contested FIFA World Cup qualifier played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Speaking during the post-match press briefing, Morocco Coach Walid Regragui praised the Zambian side, saying his team can never underestimate Chipolopolo given the country’s rich history as a football powerhouse.
Zambia’s Coach Avram Grant said despite the 2–0 loss, his side showed great improvement, dominating large portions of the game.
Meanwhile, fans expressed disappointment over individual errors that led to the defeat.
They urged the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to urgently address the team’s weaknesses ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations in December this year.
