The Mongu High Court is today expected to deliver judgment in the murder case of Senior Induna Inete, Mwangelwa Akapelwa, who was shot dead at his home in Salambango Village, Limulunga District, on the night of March 17, 2024.
The senior traditional leader under the Barotse Royal Establishment was gunned down while locking his vehicle, in what police described as a family-related dispute.
Four suspects were arrested in connection with the killing, including the alleged shooter and individuals who allegedly aided in concealing him. A shotgun believed to have been used in the murder was also recovered.
The case, which sent shockwaves across the Western Province, has been before the Mongu High Court and now awaits judgment today.
