A five-year-old child, Lazarus Mwewa, has allegedly been hacked to death by his grandfather, Ponde Kafwanka, in Sub Chief Kunda Mfumu’s chiefdom in Chembe district.

Ponde has admitted having killed his grandson and that his intention was to eat some of his body parts.

The child’s body parts which include the heart, liver, eyes, and intestines were found in his grandfather’s grass-thatched house.

The child was deceived by his grandfather into thinking they were going to the bush to set traps for wild animals, but instead was killed and cut into pieces.
