Police in Chipata District have arrested and charged five suspects for breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.
Among the five suspects is Chipata Central Constituency aspiring candidate Brian Nkunika.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba has confirmed that the suspects broke into Mobile City Shop on 18th November 2025 and stole huge sums of money.
It is alleged that they used part of the money to buy a Sieta vehicle which has been recovered by the police.
Further investigations revealed that one of the suspects is a worker at Mobile City in Chipata who helped the criminals gain access to the shop and steal the money.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing and the suspects will soon appear in court.
