Patrick Mbewe, a 34-year-old resident of Bauleni Compound, is appealing to well-wishers for financial support to undergo corrective surgery costing K43,000, following a tragic accident that left him paralysed from the waist down.
In 2020, Mbewe’s life took a devastating turn when a wall fence collapsed on him, resulting in serious injuries. Since then, daily life has become increasingly difficult for his family, as he now relies heavily on his mother, who struggles to meet medical and household expenses through piecework jobs.
Despite these challenges, Mbewe remains hopeful and determined. His resilience has inspired those around him, including his close friend Geoffrey Soya, who has commended Mbewe’s strong fighting spirit.
Mr. Soya has since appealed to well-wishers, organisations and members of the public to come forward and support Mbewe in raising the required funds for the surgery, which could significantly improve his quality of life.
