A 37-year-old Lusaka-based secondhand Bible vendor says despite the harsh economic times he has survived in his business of 15 years in what he believes to be an act of God.

Chola Mwewa, who trades on the busy Great East Road flyover bridge near ZESCO Head Office, has told Diamond Media that complete strangers that appreciate his work have kept his undertaking bouyant, even in hard economic times of the Christian nation.

Chola, a father of four children who mostly targets motorists, has revealed that selling Bibles led him to Christianity hence quitting alcohol.

He says he enjoys his business because it has also taught him best practices on financial management that most Zambians are not good at.

However, he also acknowledges shock from effects of the unending cost of living that have drastically reduced his profits.

The street vendor who doubles as an Evangelist of Power in Christ Ministries says in the past, he would sell bibles worth K3,000 a day but now he can only raise about K500 of the different publications that range between K80 and K70 each a copy.
