The Centre for International Forestry Research has launched the Zambia for Agroforestry Biodiversity and Climate change project aimed at combating deforestation in the country.
Research Country Coordinator, Masubo Malesu, who has called on government to support the program’s sustainability says there is urgent need to preserve the forests.
Ministry of Green Economy Permanent Secretary Eng. John Msimuko adds that the project, which will cost 1.4 million euros, will support the development of forests and those who depend on the project.
Meanwhile, Finish Ambassador to Zambia Saana Halinen has echoed the country’s’ continued support to Zambia’s commitment in the fight against Climate Change and preserving of natural resources.
